Rathian and Cheval Amiibo

Rathian and Cheval is the paired amiibo from Monster Hunter Stories 1, featuring Cheval (the original Stories game's tritagonist and Rider-rival to the player) (Note: Cheval also means horse in french!) alongside the Rathian (the female counterpart to the Rathalos). Cheval's storyline in Stories is one of the franchise's more emotionally complicated arcs: family-trauma, monster-bonding, and a slow descent into antagonist-territory before resolution.

The pose is quite dynamic as it looks like the Rathian is about to chomp your head off before heading to the direction Cheval is pointing at.

Stories' decision to give Cheval the Rathian rather than another Rathalos was a deliberate character-design choice that fans have written about at length. The figure carries that choice. Pairs naturally with the rest of the Stories 1 wave (One-Eyed Rathalos and Rider Boy/Girl, Navirou, Barioth and Ayuria, Qurupeco and Dan) as the six-figure Stories 1 cluster.
