Poochy Amiibo

Poochy is the yellow-dog companion who's been quietly tagging along with Yoshi since Yoshi's Story (1997 N64), then again in Yoshi's New Island, then earnestly throughout Yoshi's Woolly World. The amiibo released February 3, 2017 alongside Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World on 3DS, the 3DS port that made Poochy a more central character than he'd been in the original.

The figure: yarn-textured construction matching the rest of the Woolly World cluster, the standard Poochy 'I am here and I am happy to help and lick something' face. The yarn vibe is identical to the Yarn Yoshi line, which is the right design call.

He pairs with Green, Pink, and Light-Blue Yarn Yoshi as the four-figure Woolly World companion set. (Poochy is one of Nintendo's most-quietly-persistent supporting characters; he's been around for nearly thirty years and is rarely the lead, but he never gets dropped. The amiibo is a small thank-you for that consistency.) Top priority for Yoshi completionists, must-have if you have any of the Yarn Yoshis.
