About Resetti amiibo
Mr. Resetti is the angry mole who appears in the early Animal Crossing games (2001 GameCube, 2005 DS, 2008 Wii) to scold the player at length for resetting without saving first. The franchise's commitment to giving Resetti's lectures actual long-form text content (multi-screen dialogues that scaled in aggression based on how many times the player had reset) is the kind of player-shaming gameplay-design choice the franchise rarely commits to. Released November 13, 2015 alongside the Animal Crossing amiibo Festival figure-line.
Resetti got phased out of mainline Animal Crossing in New Leaf because Nintendo decided his aggressive monologues weren't appropriate for the franchise's increasingly-relaxing tone. He returned in New Horizons in a softer Reset Center role.
Tap him on compatible games for Resetti-themed bonus content, including reset-themed items and Resetti-specific dialogue. The amiibo function is one of the figure-line's quietest because Resetti's role in modern Animal Crossing is reduced.
He pairs with Tom Nook, Isabelle, K.K., and the broader Animal Crossing NPC cluster. Most modern AC fans don't remember the Resetti lectures because the lectures got phased out.
