Shovel Knight - Gold Edition Amiibo

Shovel Knight Gold Edition is a gold-painted variant of the original Shovel Knight figure, and his entire reason for existing is that Yacht Club Games wanted to commemorate Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove (the four-campaign anthology) with a special-edition figure-line entry. The Gold Edition is the rarer of the Shovel Knight figure-line variants. Released March 18, 2018 as a limited-print-run figure-line addition.

Functionally identical to the standard Shovel Knight figure for compatibility. Same in-game unlocks. Same co-op-mode access. Same Shovel Knight gameplay-tied content. The gold paint changes nothing mechanically.

Producing a gold-paint variant of an indie character was the figure-line's quietest acknowledgment that Shovel Knight's success had earned him retailer-exclusive-tier figure treatment alongside Mario Gold and Mega Man Gold. Three gold figures: Mario, Mega Man, Shovel Knight. The franchise has decided which characters deserve gold paint and which don't.
