Specter Knight is one of the four playable Shovel Knight characters, and his campaign (Specter of Torment) is the franchise's prequel-storyline release, depicting Specter Knight before he became the antagonist in the original Shovel Knight game. His character beat is being a scythe-wielding ghost-knight with a tragic backstory involving a failed attempt to save his living friend, and the campaign's tone is significantly darker than the rest of the Shovel Knight anthology. The amiibo released April 5, 2017.

Most indie-platformers don't have prequel-storyline campaigns. Shovel Knight does. The figure carries the prequel-protagonist in plastic.
