Big Man Amiibo

Big Man is one third of Deep Cut, the friendly-manta-ray-creature member of the in-game pop-idol trio. He's not human. He's a giant friendly manta ray with a very-low-key stage presence and a vocabulary that consists entirely of 'AY!' variations. The amiibo released November 17, 2023 alongside Shiver and Frye.

The franchise's commitment to making one Deep Cut member a non-humanoid manta-ray creature is the kind of weird character-design decision the previous idol-groups hadn't tried.

Tap him on Splatoon 3 to unlock Big Man-specific Deep Cut-themed gear and trigger Big Man-specific dialogue. His gear unlocks are non-overlapping with Shiver's and Frye's.

The figure: large white-and-blue manta-ray body with a small humanoid-tail-stub, friendly-stance configuration with both fins extended outward. Significantly larger base footprint than the Shiver and Frye figures because the manta-ray silhouette is wider than human-shaped figures.

He pairs with Shiver, Frye (the Deep Cut trio), Pearl + Marina (Off the Hook), Callie + Marie (Squid Sisters), and the broader Splatoon idol-cluster. Most fans display Deep Cut as a trio. Big Man's manta-ray silhouette dominates the trio's group display because his figure is the largest. AY!
