Marina is the taller-bodied, calmer, DJ-coded half of Off the Hook, the in-game pop-idol duo who replaced the Squid Sisters as Inkopolis News hosts in Splatoon 2 (2017). Her character beat is being the technical-skill-focused, level-headed, more-musically-sophisticated half of the duo (Pearl is the brash rap-coded half).

The franchise's commitment to making the Off the Hook duo a tall-and-short visual contrast was the kind of design decision the Squid Sisters didn't lean on. The amiibo released July 13, 2018 alongside Pearl as the Off the Hook two-figure wave.

Tap her on Splatoon games to unlock Off the Hook-themed gear, replay Off the Hook concert content, and trigger Marina-specific dialogue. The Marina amiibo's gear unlocks are non-overlapping with Pearl's.

She pairs with Pearl (the Off the Hook duo), Callie + Marie (the Squid Sisters), Shiver + Frye + Big Man (Deep Cut), and the broader Splatoon idol-cluster. Most fans display Pearl and Marina as a pair.
