Luigi Amiibo

Luigi is Mario's taller, greener, more-anxious-and-secretly-more-competent brother. He's been around since 1983 and has spent two decades quietly developing his own franchise line via Luigi's Mansion (three entries), the WarioWare extended-family games, and his recurring lead role in Mario & Luigi RPGs. The Mario Series amiibo released March 20, 2015 in the six-figure launch wave alongside Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Toad, and Bowser.

He pairs with the Smash Luigi (a separate sculpt) and the broader Mario-line cluster. Nintendo officially declared 2013 the Year of Luigi for his 30th anniversary. The Mario Series Luigi is the figure-form Year-of-Luigi commemoration, two years late.
