About Dr. Mario amiibo

Dr. Mario is Mario's costume-variant from the Dr. Mario puzzle game (1990 NES), where Mario dresses as a doctor and throws color-coded pills at viruses. No credentials needed besides his new clothes. His Smash Melee inclusion (2001) was originally as a Mario-clone fighter with slightly-different stat-distribution. Smash 4 brought him back as a separate roster slot from standard Mario, with subtle moveset differences (heavier weight, slower fall-speed, slightly-different Megavitamins-projectile compared to Mario's Fireball). The amiibo released September 11, 2015.

In Smash Ultimate his FP trains with the Mario-derivative moveset plus the heavier-fall-speed-and-stronger-attacks differentiation. His slight-moveset-difference rewards specific damage-trade calculations.

The figure: Dr. Mario in his white-doctor-coat configuration with the stethoscope and the medical-cap, with a pill in his hands, quietly asking "Did you take your vitamins today?"

He pairs with Mario Smash, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Wario, and the broader Mario-line Smash cluster.
