About Mewtwo amiibo
Mewtwo is the genetically-engineered legendary-Pokemon from the original Pokemon Red/Blue (1996), the franchise's first major legendary character. His Smash Melee inclusion (2001) added the most projectile-coded Pokemon to the roster. Mewtwo was cut from Brawl (2008), absent from Smash 4's launch, and re-added as DLC in Smash 4 (2015) after fan-demand lasted nearly a decade. The amiibo released November 13, 2015.
Most Smash legacy-fighters get one cut-and-return cycle. Mewtwo got several.
In Smash Ultimate his FP trains with his projectile-and-recovery moveset: Shadow Ball neutral-special-charge, Confusion side-special-reflect, Teleport up-special-warp, Disable down-special-stun. The Shadow Ball charging mechanic rewards specific spacing-and-charging timing.
The figure: classic Mewtwo with his fingers pointing at you with a challenging demeanor. This pose has been burned into anyone who's been there since gen 1.
He pairs with the Pokemon-line Smash cluster (Pikachu, Pichu, Greninja, Lucario, Incineroar, Pokemon Trainer, Charizard, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Jigglypuff).
