About King K. Rool amiibo
King K. Rool is the recurring Donkey Kong Country antagonist (1994 SNES onward), the giant-crocodile-king who leads the Kremling Krew. The fan-campaign for his Smash inclusion lasted nearly a decade because Donkey Kong Country fans had been advocating for the antagonist's roster spot since Brawl. The Smash Ultimate inclusion (2018) was the long-fought roster-debate payoff. The amiibo released February 15, 2019.
In Smash Ultimate his FP trains as the franchise's most armor-belly-tactical heavyweight: Blunderbuss neutral-special-cannonball, Crownerang side-special-throw, Propellerpack up-special-recovery, Gut Check down-special-counter. The armored-belly-counter gives him a tactical-defense option most Smash fighters don't have.
He pairs with Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and the Donkey-Kong-line Smash cluster.
