About Charizard amiibo
Charizard is the third-stage final-form of the Charmander / Charmeleon / Charizard fire-type starter line (1996 Pokemon Red/Blue), and the heaviest of the three Pokemon Trainer rotation Pokemon in Smash Ultimate. His character beat is the slow-heavy power-tier of the trio: high-knockback attacks, high weight, slow speed, dragon-like fire-breathing combat moves. He was the original game's Pokemon Red box-art Pokemon and has been the franchise's primary mascot for the heavyweight power-Pokemon archetype since 1996. The amiibo released September 14, 2018 alongside the Pokemon Trainer figure.
In Smash Ultimate his FP trains as a Charizard-specific within the Pokemon Trainer trio's rotation, plus stand-alone Charizard FP training. Most Pokemon Trainer rotation Pokemon are exclusively-rotation; Charizard works as both, which makes the figure flexible.
He pairs with Pokemon Trainer, Squirtle, Ivysaur (the Pokemon Trainer four-figure subset), Mewtwo, Pichu, Greninja, Incineroar, and the broader Pokemon Smash cluster. The Amiibo captures Charizard's "I'm about to throw a fit and burn you to a crisp pose" very well.
