About Dark Samus amiibo
Dark Samus is the Phazon-corrupted version of Samus from the Metroid Prime trilogy (2002 GameCube, 2004 GameCube, 2007 Wii). Her character beat is that she's a parasitic-Phazon-entity that has assimilated Samus's Power Suit and combat-data, making her the franchise's most distorted-mirror Samus variant. Her Smash Ultimate inclusion (2018) was originally as a Samus-clone fighter, but the figure-line preserves her as a separate roster slot. The amiibo released January 25, 2019.
In Smash Ultimate her FP trains with the Samus-derivative moveset plus the slightly-different physics-and-Phazon-coloration. The slight-moveset-difference rewards specific damage-trade calculations.
She pairs with Samus Smash, Zero Suit Samus, Ridley, and the broader Metroid-line cluster. The Phazon-coloration is detailed. The figure preserves the parasitic-mirror that the Prime trilogy spent three games turning into Samus's most personal antagonist.
