About Mr. Game & Watch amiibo

Mr. Game & Watch is a flat-2D-silhouette character who represents the Game & Watch handheld electronic devices Nintendo produced from 1980 to 1991, the franchise's pre-NES portable-gaming era. The character has no source-material game to be 'from'; his moveset is a collage of references to specific Game & Watch titles: his neutral-special is the Chef cooking-game, his side-special is the Manhole game, his up-special is the Fire game, his down-special is the Judge game (which assigns him a random number 1-9 with damage scaling). The amiibo released April 24, 2015.

In Smash Ultimate his FP trains with the multi-Game-and-Watch-reference moveset plus the distinctive flat-2D-animation aesthetic preserved in his on-screen visual style. He's the franchise's most RNG-tactical AI fighter because the Judge down-special's random damage rolls add genuine luck-elements.

The figure: flat-2D-silhouette Mr. Game & Watch on a small base, the 'I am about to perform Chef' pose with both arms raised. The figure is genuinely flat because the source-material Game & Watch character is intentionally 2D. What's special with this is that you can actually switch the poses, 4 in total.

He pairs with the meta-textual-character cluster (Wii Fit Trainer, R.O.B., Mr. Game & Watch, Duck Hunt) and the broader Smash Ultimate roster. Get him because the Game & Watch era is real and the figure preserves it in three dimensions. Sort of. The figure is mostly two dimensions standing up.
