Ness Amiibo

Ness is the protagonist of EarthBound (1995 SNES, the second game in Itoi's MOTHER trilogy), Nintendo's quirky-suburban-kid-with-PSI-powers RPG. EarthBound itself was a critical-success-and-commercial-niche release in the West, but the cult fanbase has grown significantly across decades. Ness has been Smash's primary EarthBound representative since the original Smash (1999).

In Smash Ultimate his FP trains with the franchise's most PSI-power-coded moveset: PK Flash neutral-special-charge, PK Fire side-special-burn, PK Thunder up-special-recovery (Ness controls a thunder-bolt manually to hit himself for a recovery-launch), Yo-Yo down-special. The PK Thunder mechanic requires specific manual-control skill rewarded in tournaments.
