About Pac-Man amiibo
Pac-Man is the protagonist of Namco's Pac-Man arcade game (1980), one of the most iconic arcade titles in gaming history. His Smash 4 inclusion (2014) was the figure-line's third major third-party guest fighter (after Sonic and Mega Man). His Smash design committed to making the moveset entirely arcade-history-themed: every special move references a different classic Namco arcade game. Bonus Fruit references Pac-Man, Power Pellet references Pac-Man, Galaga side-special references the Galaga arcade, Fire Hydrant references Mappy. The amiibo released February 1, 2015.
In Smash Ultimate his FP trains with the multi-arcade-reference moveset plus his distinctive yellow-circle-with-mouth-and-eyes character archetype. He pairs with the third-party-fighter cluster (Sonic, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Ryu, Ken, Cloud, Bayonetta, Joker, Hero, Banjo, Terry, Min Min, Steve, Sephiroth).
