Joker Amiibo

Joker is the protagonist of Persona 5 (2016 PS3/PS4), Atlus's stylish-as-hell Tokyo high-school-criminals-with-superpowers JRPG that became one of the most influential JRPG releases of the PS4 era. His Smash Ultimate inclusion (April 2019 DLC) was the franchise's most blindsiding roster addition because Persona 5 had been a PlayStation-exclusive franchise since 2016. Joker's reveal trailer dropped during The Game Awards 2018 with no advance teasing, and the entire Persona fanbase collectively lost their minds in real-time. The amiibo released September 17, 2021.

In Smash Ultimate his FP trains with the Persona-summoning moveset: Arsene (his Persona) appears mid-fight after Joker takes enough damage, and Joker's combat options expand to include Arsene-supported attacks. The stylized Persona-summoning visual vibe is intact in Smash.

He pairs with the Fighters Pass Vol. 1 subset (Joker, Hero, Banjo-Kazooie, Terry, Byleth). Most Persona fans own this figure specifically because the Smash inclusion was their character's first Nintendo-platform appearance. Atlus does not usually do this.
