Luigi Amiibo

Smash Luigi has been Mario's brother since the original Mario Bros. (1983 arcade), and his Smash inclusion has been continuous since the original Smash (1999). His character beat in Smash is being a Mario-clone-with-a-twist: similar moveset to Mario but with floatier physics, a higher-arc Super Jump Punch, the Vacuum-up-grab from Luigi's Mansion, and the famous-among-Smash-players Down-B Misfire (a randomly-occurring devastating side-attack that fires automatically at low chance). The amiibo released November 21, 2014.

In Smash Ultimate his FP trains with the Mario-clone-with-a-twist moveset plus the Vacuum forward-special grab from Luigi's Mansion. His lower-traction-and-higher-jumps make him distinctively-different from Mario despite the moveset similarities.

He pairs with Mario, Peach, Daisy, Bowser, Yoshi, and the rest of the Mario-line Smash cluster. Most Mario fans own both Mario and Luigi figures because the pair represents the franchise's most iconic brotherhood.
