Guardian Amiibo

Guardians are the 10,000-year-old Sheikah war machines that were supposed to defend Hyrule from the Calamity but got hijacked by Ganon and turned against the kingdom. Every BotW player has flinched at the laser-eye charge-up beep at least once. Most have flinched at it dozens of times. Released June 23, 2017 with Link Archer and Link Rider in the BotW launch wave.

The figure: This is a large figure both in terms of base and arm span. The spider-walker mechanical body with the central laser eye and six articulating legs. Mid-stride, the silhouette every BotW player has had nightmares about across thousands of overworld encounters. You can hear the song playing when you look at it.

He pairs with the four-Champion cluster as the BotW launch set. The Guardian is the rare 'I want the figure of the thing that killed me' purchase. Most BotW players have a personal Guardian-trauma anecdote. The laser eye still beeps in your head when you stand in tall grass. The figure remembers.
