About Wolf Link amiibo

Wolf Link is Twilight Princess Link in his most-iconic transformation, plus the figure-line's single most-substantial utility unlock. Twilight Princess (2006 Wii / GameCube) was the franchise's gritty-realistic response to Wind Waker's cel-shaded backlash, and TP introduced the wolf-transformation mechanic where Link periodically becomes Wolf Link in the Twilight Realm sections. The amiibo released March 4, 2016 with the Twilight Princess HD remaster.

Wolf Link does two things, and both matter. In TP HD he unlocks the Cave of Shadows, a 40-floor amiibo-only dungeon and the longest amiibo-locked content the franchise ever produced. In BotW he summons a tame wolf that follows Link around BotW Hyrule and helps in combat. The wolf's HP carries over between save files, which means players who level up Wolf Link in TP HD can deploy a high-HP wolf in BotW. Most figures unlock a costume or a loot drop. Wolf Link unlocks a recurring companion across two games.

He pairs with Link Twilight Princess, Link Ocarina of Time, the four-Champion cluster, and the broader Link cluster.
