About Urbosa - Gerudo Champion amiibo

Urbosa's amiibo is the figure of BotW's most-protective Champion. Urbosa is the Gerudo Chief, pilot of Divine Beast Vah Naboris, and the Champion closest to Zelda (Urbosa was friends with Zelda's late mother and stepped into a quasi-mother-figure role afterward). Her character beat is that she calls Zelda 'little bird' in flashback dialogue, which is the kind of detail BotW's writers earn through patient world-building. The amiibo released November 10, 2017 alongside the rest of the Champion wave.

What she does in BotW is drop Gerudo-themed weaponry and the Scimitar of the Seven when tapped. The Scimitar of the Seven is one of BotW's most-iconic Gerudo-line weapons.

She pairs with Mipha, Daruk, and Revali as the four-Champion cluster.

Urbosa's Fury is the most-aggressive-coded Champion ability. The charged-thunderclap AOE that triggers on a held-attack is the kind of mechanic that makes you appreciate how thoughtful the Champion ability differentiation is. Mipha revives, Daruk shields, Revali traverses, Urbosa kills. Urbosa's relationship with Zelda is the BotW writing-team's most-quietly-developed character bond. 'Little bird' lands every time.
