Rosalina Amiibo

Rosalina in the Mario-line wave is the Mario-cluster figure of the Galaxy-era Mario protagonist, released March 20, 2015. She debuted in Super Mario Galaxy (2007 Wii) as the cosmic queen of the Lumas (small star-creature companions) and the curator of the Comet Observatory. Her backstory in the Galaxy storybook is one of the franchise's most-emotional pieces of writing: Rosalina was raised by her mother, lost her, and adopted the Lumas as her surrogate family. The franchise tucks this in as optional in-game lore that most casual players miss.

What she does in compatible Mario games is unlock Rosalina-themed bonus content. Mario Kart 8 gets a Rosalina racing skin. Mario Party gets bonus mini-game content. The amiibo's gameplay function is mostly cosmetic-and-narrative.

She pairs with Smash Rosalina, Mario and Luma, Rosalina and Lumas (the multi-Luma figure), and the Galaxy subcluster. Don't read the Galaxy storybook before bed.
