About Zelda amiibo

BotW Zelda's character beat is that she's been holding back Calamity Ganon inside Hyrule Castle for one hundred years while the player explores the post-apocalyptic Hyrule that resulted from her failure to seal him properly the first time. The player only encounters her in flashback memories that BotW scatters across Hyrule, requiring active exploration and image-matching to find each memory. The amiibo released March 4, 2017 alongside the BotW launch.

BotW Zelda's storyline is the franchise's most emotionally-loaded backstory. She's been in solitary holding-pattern combat with the franchise's primary antagonist for an entire century while Link slept in the Shrine of Resurrection. The flashback structure means most players don't really meet her as a character until they've already played fifty hours.

Tap her on BotW for higher-tier ingredient drops and rare items. The loot is among the more generous in the figure-line because of her launch-wave status.

She pairs with Link Archer, Link Rider, the four-Champion cluster, and the broader Zelda-character cluster. She's been holding back Calamity Ganon for one hundred years so she deserves a spot on your shelf.
