About Zelda amiibo
Zelda has been Smash's secondary Zelda-line representative since Smash Melee (2001), and her character beat is being the franchise's most magic-projectile fighter: Nayru's Love reflector, Din's Fire ranged-projectile, Farore's Wind teleport-recovery, Phantom Slash forward-special. The amiibo released July 24, 2015.
The Smash figure-line Zelda is depicted in her Twilight Princess-era configuration, parallel to the Smash-line Link figure. The Smash Ultimate update redesigned her on-screen model to her A Link Between Worlds (2013 3DS) configuration, but the figure-line holds on to the TP-era Zelda. The figure is a small franchise-history artifact because the on-screen model has moved on.
In Smash Ultimate her FP trains with the magic-projectile-teleport moveset plus the Phantom Slash forward-special that summons a Phantom Knight to deliver attacks on her behalf. Her projectile-and-Phantom-summon options give her broad spatial coverage.
She pairs with Link Smash, Sheik, Ganondorf Smash, Toon Link, Young Link, and the broader Zelda-line Smash cluster.
