About Link amiibo

Link has been Smash's primary Zelda-line representative since the original Smash (1999 N64). The Smash 4-era figure depicts him in his Twilight Princess (2006) art-style configuration, while later Smash Ultimate updates redesigned his on-screen model to match Breath of the Wild (2017). The Smash figure-line holds on to the TP-era Link in figure form because the figure released before the BotW redesign. The TP-era Link figure is now a small piece of franchise-history because the on-screen model has moved on. The amiibo released November 21, 2014.

In Smash Ultimate his FP trains with the sword-and-bow moveset: Hero's Bow ranged-attacks, Boomerang projectile, Spin Attack neutral-air-clear, Bombs as forward-special. The bow-and-bomb combat options give him broad spatial coverage.

He pairs with Toon Link, Young Link, Zelda Smash, Sheik, Ganondorf, and the broader Zelda-line Smash cluster. The figure carries the TP-era Link's brooding look before BotW redesigned the character.
