Samus Amiibo

Samus Aran has been Smash's primary Metroid-line representative since the original Smash (1999), and her character beat in Smash is being the franchise's heavy-projectile zoner: Charge Shot ranged neutral-special, Missile side-special, Bomb down-special, Screw Attack recovery. The franchise's commitment to making Samus a projectile-zoner rather than a brawler matches her Metroid-game character archetype: Samus's Metroid combat is bullet-coded, and the Smash moveset preserves that. The amiibo released November 21, 2014.

In Smash Ultimate her FP trains with her distinctive zoner moveset plus the Power Suit-themed visual aesthetic preserved across all Smash Ultimate art-direction. The Charge Shot mechanic rewards specific spacing-and-charging timing.
